Nautical Paintings of Dave Henry

Original Oil Paintings

Over the years Dave Henry has received many plaudits and awards for his land and seascapes. Yet, his best work has been inspired by the sea; notably, his paintings of vessels of world renown design and beauty. In his own words, "Watching a vessel ply its way through rough seas is akin to viewing a classic ballet performance...transferring this grace to a piece of canvas can be quite a challenge!" Dave has sailed, lived aboard, and restored boats of classic lines; he now concentrates on painting vessels of historic beauty. After years of plying the Santa Barbara Channel twixt Morro Bay and Ventura Harbor, Dave Henry has moved his permanent studio inland. This places no limit on his inspiration judging from his comment: "You can envision the sea just but observing the clouds and their constant movements." One of Dave's favorite admirers is former presidential candidate H. Ross Perot. Dave's work graces the wall in his Bermuda island property. Mr. Perot's encouragement guided Dave in focusing on sea & sail.
